My first design imagines an alternative to the Archdiocese of Detroit's current child abuse training. Adult (mainly elderly) church volunteers who don't work with children would instead attend an in-person, group-based experience about issues pertinent to this audience: common volunteer accidents and medical emergencies.

This curriculum for fourth graders in Pennsylvania's Centennial School District aligns the story of the state's indigenous Lenape tribe with the grade's language arts texts and prompts students to consider their identities and roles within the Warminster community. I served as the team lead and co-designed with A. Horwitz, E. Kishta, and J. Stahl.

In this learning experience, which follows the Parable of the Bags of Gold, longtime employees of a Catholic church are challenged to invest their talents for hospitality by recognizing the value of future training sessions and continuing to reflect with their fellow team members. This experience was facilitated by my mentor, Dr. Monica Tracey.

When elderly individuals with visual impairments turn to their local libraries for text-based assistance, these institutions may not be able to help them. To empower these users, I designed the free EZread app, which provides portable visual assistance for interpreting physical documents, signage, and textual library materials.
